Sweet Itch - Pat Coe

Dear Malcolm,
Thank you for your August letter and your very interesting conclusions on over/under immune system responses. Proof of your pudding is sent in photo form (at last!) in the shape of Percy doing his driving job.
Cool, Calm & Collected was very useful in getting Melic through worry, irritability and resentment caused by severe sweet-itch, combined with Parelli. This method allowed me to see the changes in attitude quite clearly. Hypo Allergenic Essentials, although looked upon with suspicion as I had tried so many possibilities, enhanced his ability to deal with, and heal, insect bites and react much less, i.e. more like an animal without sweet-itch. It probably is not necessary to remind you that he needed, and needs now, the protection of his wonderful Boëtt rug too. Even with that on, there are plenty of places left out that the midges can attack! Do not forget this was a pony that the vets, having tried all in their arsenal, had advised putting down at 2. He is now one happy, confident boy.
Percy did not arrive until he was 16 but his owner (then) had had him from 2/3 years and said he was always "allergic to grass" which gave him wind, water around his stools, discomfort and a dirty bum and tail frequently and this could take days or weeks to mend. Pink Powder helped but not completely, so I tried your Digestive Essentials and he is so much better it has been possible to extend his grazing time - although of course, being a very round Welsh A, we need to be more sensible than he would like! Even if he has a "dip" in the problem, an extra teaspoon in the middle of the day (so 3 then) rebalances his tummy in hours.
Molly, destined as another driving pony hopefully, worried, scatty, fearful has been put onto Sensible Essentials (so has Percy) and is looking and feeling much better. So well in fact that yesterday she had her driving harness on for the first time and she walked and trotted in it as though this was common. Again Parelli has helped the improvement and provided the means of measuring advances and attitude changes. And this is only on the preparatory booster.
Sincerely,
Pat Coe
